Antiparasitic Natural Product Library
Product No.: L6620

Parasites are Organisms that live on or within a host organism and obtain food from or at the expense of the host organism. Diseases caused by parasites have been widespread and significant public health problems worldwide, especially in tropical and subtropical regions. Parasitic diseases can be caused by three major groups of parasites: parasitic protozoa, helminths, and parasitic arthropods.

Natural products have long been used to treat various parasitic diseases such as babesiosis, leishmaniasis, malaria, trypanosomiasis, etc. and have low toxicity to non-target organisms, making them an important source of lead compounds for antiparasitic drugs. In 2015, the Nobel Prize in Physiology was awarded to Tu Youyou, who developed a new anti-malarial drug from the Artemisia plant, and to Tomo Omura and William Campbell, who isolated and extracted avermectin from the highly efficient Streptomyces, for their outstanding contributions to research in the treatment of parasitic diseases.

The TargetMol Anti-Parasitic Natural Product Library is a carefully organized collection of 253 natural products with anti-parasitic activity, which can be used in various fields of anti-parasitic drug discovery and new target validation.
